BANGOR – The Greater Bangor Convention and Visitors Bureau announced this year’s dates for the “Tommyknockers and More” bus tour. Based on the commonalties between Bangor and the fictional town of Derry, Maine, the setting for many Stephen King’s works, passengers on the tour enjoy a fun, informative and maybe even spooky journey through Bangor.

“The success of last year’s tours was amazing,” said Paul Hilchey-Chandler, marketing coordinator for the Greater Bangor CVB and the Maine Highlands. “This tour is guaranteed to entertain the Stephen King aficionado and the first-time reader alike.”

Tour guides, including Bangor’s Ryan King, will meld local history, personal anecdotes and knowledge of the works of Bangor’s most famous author to keep passengers on the edge of their seats.

The tours will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, July 4; Sunday, Aug. 14; Sunday, Sept. 25; and Sunday, Oct. 30. The tours begin at the Bangor Waterfront in the Front Street parking lot next to the harbormaster’s office. Guaranteed reservations are required and may be made by calling the Greater Bangor CVB at 947-5205 or (800) 91-MOOSE. The cost is $10 per person.
