Bangor Christian Schools

James Chasse, principal of Bangor Christian Schools, has announced the honor parts for the Class of 2005. Graduation and baccalaureate ceremonies were held June 10 in the Bangor Baptist Church auditorium.

Jennifer McFarland, daughter of Jeffrey and Cheryl McFarland of Ellsworth, was named valedictorian for the Class of 2005. She will attend Northeastern University to study criminal justice.

She participated in many activities, including varsity cheering, was a captain of the cheering squad her senior year and was on the first cheering squad to win a state championship for Bangor Christian. She was class treasurer all four years of high school and won awards at the state science fair.

Kristina Caldwell, daughter of Chris and Marie Caldwell of Newburgh, was named salutatorian for the Class of 2005. She will attend Eastern University in St. Davids, Pa., where she will study premedicine.

She was a National Merit Finalist, received the Maine Secondary Schools Principal’s award, the Bausch & Lomb Honorary Science award, and the University of Rochester’s Humanities and Social Science awards. She managed the boys’ varsity soccer and basketball teams and participated in spring track her senior year. She held offices of student council president, vice president of the National Honor Society and co-president of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. She was a member of the math team and the yearbook staff, has been published in the Bangor Daily News Student Supplement and has earned various awards at the state science fair.
