Three Maine racewalkers all earned berths in the World Track and Field Championships with their performances in the U.S. Outdoor Championships in Carson, Calif. over the weekend.
Ben Shorey of Ellsworth, Kevin Eastler of Farmington and Lauren Forgues of Boothbay will all compete in the World games in Finland later this summer.
Shorey wound up third in his race with a time of 1 hour, 32 minutes, 28.3 seconds while Eastler was fourth (1:33:15.04) in the same race (20 kilometers). In the Junior competition, Forgues took fourth place with a time of 55:14.03 in the 10-kilometer walk
