Bangor teams record victories in first round

OLD TOWN – Tyler Desjardins pitched a one-hit shutout and recorded 10 out of 12 outs on strikeouts to lead the Bangor East 11-12 All-Stars to a 15-0 District 3 tourney baseball win over Old Town Thursday.

Ellis Throckmorton hit a double and two singles to drive in four runs for Bangor East and Desjardins added a two-run double. John Szewczyk had two singles and Luke Hettermann hit an RBI single.

Tyler Alexander singled in the second inning for Old Town’s hit.

Katahdin 8, Orono-Veazie 6

At Patten, Brandon Robinson hit two doubles to drive in two runs including a two-run double in the top of the sixth inning to give Katahdin Valley the win.

Cody Robinson hit a two-run double in the sixth inning to tie the game for Katahdin. Brandon Robinson struck out 12.

Cameron Dwyer hit a two-run single for Orono-Veazie as Christian Corneil and Tyler Eddy each doubled.

Bangor West 12, Holbrook 2

At Holbrook, Joe Stanevicz pitched the one-hitter and hit a double and a single as Bangor West gained the five-inning victory.

Jacques Larochelle also doubled twice for the winners, while Josh Hartley hit a home run and Phil Frost had a double and two singles.

Thomas Schulz singled for Holbrook.
