Hilts, Acadians shut out Twins

ELLSWORTH – Dan Hilts tossed a three-hit shutout, striking out six and walking only two as the Trenton Acadians earned a 7-0 American Legion baseball victory over the Orono Twins Thursday.

Trenton broke the game open with six runs in the bottom of the first. Harrison Hines had a two-run double, Blake Wessel a two-run single and Will Rosenthal an RBI double to highlight the rally.

Cory Smith added two singles and an RBI for Trenton.

Cody Andrews paced Orono with a double and a single.

Presque Isle 8, Lincoln 0

At Lincoln, lefthander Chad Lavway allowed just three hits and two walks while striking out 11 to lead Presque Isle to the shutout win.

Hunter Caron had two singles and two RBIs for the Patriots. Logan York hit a two-run single and Spencer King added an RBI single.

Tyler Thompson, Jason Murchinson and Blaine Clark each singled for Lincoln.

Waldo 13, Calais 1

At Calais, Brendan Gardner hit a two-run home run in the fifth inning as Waldo earned its third victory.

Miles Davee doubled and singled with an RBI for the Wildcats. Tyson McHatten doubled twice and Mike Adams had two singles and an RBI.

Tyler Miles pitched a four-hitter for Waldo.

Anthony Lewey singled and scored a run for Calais.

Brewer 6, Hampden 2

At Brewer, Jeff Miller slammed a solo homer and singled as the Falcons prevailed.

Chris Maguire had two singles, a double and plated two runs and Pat Moran added two singles for Brewer.

Dan McLean hit a double and a single for the Riverdogs and Ian Lee singled.
