The Rev. Dr. Henry G. Wyman of Bangor celebrated the 50th anniversary of his ordination in a recent service that also marked the 25th anniversary of his daughter’s ordination. Wyman, a graduate of Brewer High School and the University of Maine, served Congregational churches in Connecticut, Ohio and New York, including, for more than 20 years, the Patchogue Congregational Church on Long Island, N.Y. His daughter, the Rev. Susan Wyman, is minister of the West Hartland Congregational Church in Connecticut. The elder Wyman and his wife, Dr. Sona Wyman, estimate close family members have served a combined 175 years as United Church of Christ ministers: Henry Wyman’s brother, nephew and Susan Wyman’s husband are also UCC ministers.
