BANGOR – Andrew Patterson’s run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning Sunday scored Mitch Peasley and broke a 13-13 tie that capped a comeback from a 10-run deficit as Brewer rallied to beat Penquis 14-13 in Zone 1 American Legion baseball action.
Brewer had erased a 4-0 deficit in the opener to triumph 7-5.
In the second game, Chris Maguire’s three-run triple and Peasley’s RBI single keyed an 11-run sixth-inning rally that wiped out the 12-2 deficit.
Ben Davis added an RBI double.
Sam Bowers hit two RBI singles for Penquis. Tim McCarthy had three singles and an RBI and Aaron Woodman hit a two-run single.
In the first game, Pat Moran hit a two-run single for Brewer. Joe Robicheau had an RBI double and Patterson singled twice
Eric Day hit a two-run triple and a single for Penquis. Mark Pullen had two singles and two RBIs and Bowers added two singles.

Orono sweeps Lincoln
At Old Town High School, Dusty Thomas’ sacrifice fly and Travis Dunton’s run-scoring single staked Orono to a 2-0 first-inning lead en route to a 10-6, second-game victory that capped the sweep of Saturday’s twinbill.
Orono won the opener 2-1 behind lefty Mike Tardiff’s four-hitter.
In the second game, Tardiff and George Keefe each had two singles and an RBI and Thomas drove in a pair of runs with his sacrifice fly and a single.
Jason Murchison and Josh Seeley each doubled and singled and had an RBI for the Lumber and Tyler Thompson had a pair of singles.
In the opener, the Twins answered Josh Murchison’s RBI single in the top of the fifth with a pair of runs in the bottom of the fifth on singles by Dunton and Cory Estes, a hit batsman, a bases-loaded walk to Thomas and Keefe’s sacrifice fly.
Tardiff had five strikeouts and one walk to outduel Lincoln righthander Jason Murchison, who also pitched a four-hitter with two strikeouts and a walk.
Thomas had two singles for the Twins while Thompson and Jason Murchison doubled for Lincoln.

Presque Isle, Hampden split
At Presque Isle, Andrew York and Spencer King each hit RBI singles in the bottom of the sixth inning to give Presque Isle the 9-6 win in the first game on Saturday. Hampden took the second game 17-12.
In the first game, Chad Lavway hit three singles for Presque Isle. Dan Michaud doubled and singled with an RBI and Spencer King had two singles and an RBI.
Ian Lee had two doubles and a single with two RBIs for Hampden and Chris Pease hit a two-run home run in the third inning and a single.
In the second game, Joel Neill had three doubles and a triple to knock in two runs for Hampden and Nate Ellis hit a two-run homer in the sixth inning. Lee had two doubles and two RBIs and Billy Shannon tripled and singled to drive in a run. Matt Joy doubled and singled with an RBI.
Ryan Brewer drove in four runs on a double and a single for Presque Isle and Harry Austin had two doubles and two RBIs. Chris Parsons hit three singles and a double to knock in two runs and Tim Lyford had two doubles and an RBI. R.J. Richardson and King each had two singles.
