Craig finishes 4th again

BALNEARIO CAMBORIU, Brazil – Adam Craig of Corinth matched his career best set last week with a fourth-place finish Sunday in the sixth stop of the International Cycling Union World Cup mountain biking cross country series.

Craig, who placed fourth June 25 in Mont-Sainte-Anne, Quebec, was strong in the small field of 65 bikers who made the trip to Brazil.

Spanish Olympian Jose Antonio Hermida Ramos of Spain won the race in 2 hours, 5 minutes. Roel Paulissen of Belgium was next in 2:10:16, followed by Ralph Naef of Switzerland (2:13:04) and the 23-year-old Craig (2:14:39).

Craig also moves from ninth to seventh place in the World Cup standings. Christoph Sauser of Switzerland, who opted not to race in Brazil, retains the points lead, with Ramos and Paulissen second and third, respectively.
