PORTLAND – A Portland man linked to last week’s fatal stabbing of his roommate in the city’s West End was arrested during the weekend in Boston, police Chief Michael Chitwood said.
Victoriano Dubon, 38, was spotted in a park in East Boston by a detective who recognized him from photos and a description sent by Portland police, Chitwood said.
Dubon is accused of stabbing Jose Morales, a 47-year-old native of Guatemala. The stabbing took place June 26 as the two were drinking in their apartment building, Chitwood said. Morales was mortally wounded and stumbled onto Gilman Street, where he was found dead of multiple stab wounds.
Chitwood said Dubon, who will be charged with murder, was expected to make a court appearance Tuesday in Boston.
