In response to the letter, “Definitely a man’s job” (BDN, June 30), concerning the Hannaford women pushing shopping carts.
Part of the job description for a service clerk is bagging groceries, pushing carts and taking care of the bottle room. This goes for both the male and female employees. How fair would it be to just have the male employees do this?
I have been a Bangor Hannaford employee for 10 years and I would like to say this company is one of the fairest companies to both its male and female employees that I have ever worked for.
It’s not a man’s job to push cart, it’s a service clerk’s job.
Women can do just as much as men can do and at Hannaford we are proud to do it.
