AUGUSTA – Daniel Schuberth, a senior at Bowdoin College, was unanimously elected College Republican National Secretary at the College Republican National Convention last month in Arlington, Va.

Schuberth, a three-term state chairman of the Maine College Republicans, is the first Mainer to be elected to national College Republican leadership in the organization’s 113 year history. He also was recognized at the convention as best state chairman for 2005 by the College Republican National Committee.

Paul Gourley of South Dakota was elected national chairman.

More than 2,000 students on 23 of Maine’s college campuses belong to the Maine College Republicans.
