Recent letters to the editor in the Bangor Daily News have called for the resignation or the impeachment of President Bush.

As one who considers the president’s foreign and domestic policies to be the worst in at least 75 years, I understand where the writers of these letters are coming from.

However, I hope these correspondents will consider the alternative were Bush’s presidency to end prior to Jan. 20, 2009.

In short, “If you like President Bush, you’d love President Dick Cheney.”
