A jury sitting in Piscataquis County Superior Court this week found a Milo man not guilty of nine sex charges and were deadlocked on eight other counts, according to court staff. Gordon L. Gustin, 46, of Riverside Street was charged with 12 counts of gross sexual assault and five counts of sexual abuse of a minor that allegedly occurred between May 1, 1996, when the girl was not yet 14 years old, through May 31, 2003. A jury found Gustin not guilty of nine counts of gross sexual assault. A mistrial was called on three other counts of gross sexual assault that allegedly occurred between May 1, 1996, and Jan. 16, 1997, in Milo involving the same girl. The jury also was deadlocked on five counts of sexual abuse of a minor.
