Two men injured as two cars collide at Corinna intersection

CORINNA – Two men were injured Friday afternoon in a two-car accident at the intersection of Corinna Center Road and Amsden Road, north of Corinna village.

Benjamin Cooper, 60, of Corpus Christie, Texas, and his cousin, James Cooper, 58, of Bangor, were both taken to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor for treatment after the 4:15 p.m. crash.

Penobscot County Deputy Josh Tibbetts said Benjamin Cooper was driving a rented 2005 Chevrolet sedan when he pulled from Amsden Road into the path of a 1996 Dodge sedan driven by Adam Bradley, 22,

of Dexter that was headed

north on the Corinna Center Road.

Tibbetts said Benjamin Cooper suffered head injuries and James Cooper was being evaluated, while Bradley was not injured.

All three were wearing seat belts, and airbags in both vehicles deployed, Tibbetts said. He said there was substantial damage to both vehicles and no charges will be filed.

Tibbetts was assisted at the scene by Warden Kevin Adams and the Dexter Fire Department.
