When our government commits our troops to war, it is their responsibility to determine that our country and-or its citizens are truly in danger and, after all other options are exhausted, that war is the last resort for ending the conflict.
Now, after two years of war and the deaths of more than 1,700 American soldiers, weapons of mass destruction have not been located in Iraq and the only connection that can be found between the Hussein regime and al-Qaida is in the rhetoric coming from the Bush administration.
The Downing Street memos indicate that Bush was in the process of fabricating justification for attacking Iraq and the British authorities knowingly cooperated. Sending America’s fine soldiers into harm’s way, based on the lies of President Bush, is a crime of the highest order.
