Gloria Santarpia, a 1979 graduate of Fort Kent Community High School, was the female winner and placed 13th overall at the MARC Train 5-miler in her hometown of Odenton, Md. recently.
Santarpia, 44, the daughter of Bob and Ella Dumond of Hancock, recorded a time of 34 minutes, 22 seconds. Santarpia, who resides in Odenton with her husband, Rob, and two children, Samantha and Andrew, participated in track and field for four years at Fort Kent. She has another daughter, Alyssa Ray, who is a teacher in Ecuador.
