BANGOR – Eric White hit an RBI double and Andy Bush a two-run single to highlight a five-run fourth inning as Brewer defeated Bangor 14-7 for the District 3 Junior League All-Star baseball title at Mansfield Stadium Tuesday night.
Bangor handed Brewer its first loss in the tourney, 14-0, earlier in the day, to force the second game in the double-elimination tourney.
Brewer advanced to the state Junior tourney (ages 13-14), which begins Sunday at Mansfield, and will play at 5 p.m. against the winner of the tourney’s first game between the District 1 and 6 champs.
In Tuesday’s second game, Matt Helfen had two singles with two RBIs while Chase Daniels doubled in two runs to lead Brewer. Eric White added an RBI double.
Lonnie Hackett and Zane Gray had an RBI double apiece for Bangor.
In the first game, Gray smacked a three-run triple to key Bangor’s five-run first inning.
John Warren doubled in a pair of runs and Jason Duff had two singles and an RBI for the winners. Jordan Clarke got the win, pitching a two-hit shutout with five strikeouts.
Sean Murphy doubled for Brewer.

At Brooklin, Tyler French allowed two unearned runs on one hit and one walk while striking out 14 to lead Bucksport to victory. Coastal and Bucksport will play for the championship game in Bucksport at 5:30 p.m. today.
Cody Miller hit a two-run homer and three doubles and drove in four runs for Bucksport. Cody Davis doubled and singled with three RBIs, and Tim Nason doubled and singled. Ryan Bailey hit a two-run double.
Jesse Dow broke up the no-hitter with a single in the sixth inning for Coastal.

Alex Carroll hit a two-run triple for Waldo County, and Garth Clements added two singles. Dillon Moody and Nick Rodgerson combined to strike out 11.
Jeff Cheney singled twice for Lincoln County.

Acadians 4, Coastal 4, suspended
At Northeast Harbor, the championship game between Acadians and Coastal was suspended in the top of the seventh inning due to fog while tied at four. The game will resume at 4:30 p.m. today. If the Acadians win, another game will be played immediately following the suspended game.
