Mark Hagelin, 45, of Dover-Foxcroft, no longer is representing himself on a charge of cruelty to animals. Attorney William Logan of Dover-Foxcroft has been appointed by the court to serve Hagelin, who is indigent. Hagelin and his father, Burton Hagelin Sr., each were charged with cruelty to animals after police raided their home and kennel and seized 92 English springer spaniel dogs. The elder Hagelin said earlier this week that attorney Joseph Baldacci of Bangor had withdrawn as his attorney. A court official in Dover-Foxcroft said Baldacci has filed a motion to withdraw from the case, but that motion has not been acted upon. (Diana Bowley, BDN)
