Six-year-old twins James and Jason are vibrant, friendly and lovable youngsters who like to be read to and enjoy playing outdoors, provided it’s not “too cold or too buggy,” according to their caseworker.

Sporting blond hair and ready smiles, the boys are friendly and are loved by both the adults and children with whom they come into contact. They have wonderful senses of humor and truly enjoy new experiences.

James and Jason are fond of swimming and like to play with their toys. They enjoy being out in the community and like to go to restaurants and other community locations with their foster family.

The siblings came into the care of the Maine Department of Health and Human Services in March 2003. They have been in two placements since coming into care and have been in their current placement since March 2005.

The boys enjoy typical childhood characters, whether on television shows, on movies, in books or in the form of playthings. They are very outgoing, eager to please and very concrete in their thinking and interactions with others. Of the two, Jason is more daring and more of a risk-taker than James.

James and Jason both enjoy playing games, and Jason also likes to pull toys and other items in his wagon. Those who work closely with the brothers recommend that they be adopted together.

The boys have three other siblings but do not have contact with them or with any other member of their birth family.

A two-parent family with one stay-at-home parent is recommended for James and Jason because of their need for ample supervision and support. A two-parent family in which the parents have flexible work schedules also will be considered. Those who work with the boys also would prefer that adoptive parents for James and Jason have experience in parenting children with developmental delays or other special needs.

Adoption subsidy may be available for the most appropriate family.

For information about the twins or other children available for adoption, please contact A Family for ME at (877) 505-0545 or visit www.afamilyforme.org.

Based in Gardiner, A Family for ME is a nonprofit program that works in collaboration with Maine DHHS to find foster and adoptive families for Maine children in care.
