The U.S. Forest Service has just begun its formal review of a proposal to build up to 30 wind turbines up to 370 feet tall in the Green Mountain National Forest in Readsboro and Searsburg, Vt.
A “public scoping” process runs from July 15 through Aug. 16 as the Forest Service seeks public comments and questions about the project.
The Forest Service will use information it collects to help guide its preparation of a draft environmental impact statement. More public comments will be invited before the document is made final.
Two public meetings have been scheduled as part of the initial scoping process:
. 7 p.m. Aug. 3 at the Grand Summit Resort Hotel at Mount Snow in West Dover, Vt.
. 7 p.m. Aug. 4 at the Whitingham Elementary School, Route 100 south, Jacksonville, Vt.
