ROCKPORT – Dr. Eric R. Schenk is moving to Maine from New York and starting his own practice, called Coastal Maine Internal Medicine, on Aug. 1. The practice is opening in the physicians building at Penobscot Bay Medical Center.

Schenk received his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine in 2002 at Ohio University. Recently he completed an internal medicine residency at Bassett Healthcare in Cooperstown, N.Y.

Also joining the staff at PBMC is Dr. Mark Eggena and his wife, Dr. Cheryl Liechy. Eggena and Liechy will join the practice of Dr. Edward Steele at Glen Cove Internal Medicine.

Both Eggena and Liechy were assistant professors at the Department of Medicine at University of California.
