Eastern Maine Medical Center has announced the opening of a walk-in health care clinic at its Union Street health care mall near the airport. The facility will be open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. seven days a week to treat medical problems that need timely care but are not life-threatening. No appointment will be necessary to get treatment for sprains, earaches, minor eye injuries, infections, back pain, minor burns or other nonemergency conditions. Laboratory tests, X-rays and pharmacy services will be available on site, as well as access to medical specialists as needed. The clinic bills all major insurers, including Medicaid and Medicare. EMMC’s former walk-in clinic at the hospital’s primary campus on State Street has been closed.
