Collins pleased IRS centers to stay open

WASHINGTON — Sen. Susan Collins has applauded the Internal Revenue Service decision to suspend plans to close several Taxpayer Assistance Centers, including those in Augusta and South Portland.

All centers slated for closure will be kept open until Congress settles the IRS budget for the upcoming fiscal year.
