NEW YORK – J.K. Rowling, Bob Dylan and Stephen King are among the nominees for the first annual Quills Awards, for which the general public will cast the ballots.
King and Stewart O’Nan were nominated for best sports book for “Faithful,” a chronicle of the Boston Red Sox in 2004, when the baseball team broke a decades-long jinx and won the World Series. Dylan was cited for biography/memoir for “Chronicles, Volume One.” Rowling’s multimillion-selling “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince,”also was nominated.
Winners will be announced at an Oct. 11 ceremony and aired Oct. 22.
