BRUNSWICK – Brewer-based Portland Beverage, a co-ed Amateur Softball Association Class A slow pitch softball team, won the 2005 Maine State Class A Co-Ed Championship by going 6-0 at the state tournament. Portland Beverage beat a team from Waterville in the championship game.

The team will go to the East Regional in Indiana later this month and could then advance to the national tournament in Orlando, Fla., in October.

Team members are Donnie Strout, Dawn Eaton, Rob White, Michelle Forst, coach Matt Aspelund, Jackie Aspelund, Jimi Caron, Michelle Puls, Marc Inman, Carolyn McAvoy, Tim Light, Beth Riendeau, Sabrina Fogg and Brad Strout.
