COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Max Louscher of Worcester, Mass., formerly of the Bangor area, recently won his division of the boys figure skating competition at the State Games of America competition held at the World Arena.

Louscher, a 12-year-old seventh-grader, earned first place in the Male Solo Free Skate-Juvenile Division. He performed five double jumps, three combination moves and two spins, during a program lasting more than two minutes to earn his title.

Louscher had qualified for the State Games of America through his high finish at the most recent Bay State Games. Louscher plans to compete in the New England regionals in New Hampshire this fall, and a top-four finish in that event would qualify him for the national meet.
