Kay Byther Eames, music director at All Souls Congregational Church, Bangor, has earned certification as an associate of the American Guild of Organists. She successfully completed the associate examination, which includes both paperwork and tests at the organ, and is one of the upper-level examinations offered by the Guild. The American Guild of Organists was founded in 1896 as an educational and service organization. Eames has been music director at All Souls for 31 years. She teaches voice and piano privately as well. She earned a bachelor of music degree in music education from the Northern Conservatory of Music, which was located in Bangor, and a master’s degree in vocal performance from the University of Maine in Orono. She is dean of the Bangor Chapter of the American Guild of Organists.
