BANGOR – The Bangor Y will open its doors to the community with a “Fit for All” two-week free event running from Monday, Aug. 22, through Friday, Sept. 2.
The Y is encouraging people from the community to visit the Y Hammond Street or Y Second Street locations often during this period and try group exercise classes, use the fitness centers, drop in for recreational or lap swims, scale the climbing wall, try water exercise classes, participate in swim team clinics, sample creative arts classes and more.
The Bangor Y encourages healthy lifestyles for all ages, said Carrie Anderson-Paquette, director of development and communications.
“We want people to establish healthy habits – that may be more physical activity, finding a creative outlet or spending more family time,” she said. “We can help achieve those things and we hope people will take advantage of our two week free ‘Fit for All’ to get started.”
Marie Stewart, Bangor Y membership director, said, “This is a great way for people to come and see all the Bangor Y has to offer the community at no cost. It’s an exciting opportunity – two weeks free with no commitments whatsoever. Just drop in and have fun.”
The Bangor Y Hammond Street facility is open 5:30 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday. The Bangor Y Second Street facility is open 6 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday through Friday. For more information about the Bangor Y “Fit for All” event, call 941-2815 or 941-2808 or visit www.bangorY.org.
