OLD TOWN – A joint public hearing of the Orono and Old Town councils will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 15, to discuss the deer population problem.
Deer overpopulation has been a problem for several years in the two towns, and although it’s been discussed and studied, a solution has not been reached.
At the hearing, the 2002 summary of findings and recommendations to decrease the deer population on Marsh Island will be discussed, and the councils are expected to decide on a course of action to resolve the problem.
