ST. AGATHA – Ethan Doody knocked in two goals as the Washburn Beavers won their season opener, 3-1 over the Wisdom Pioneers in schoolboy soccer action Monday.
Alex McIntosh added a goal for 1-0 Washburn and Matt Connolly has an assist. Stephen Pesut stopped 16 of 20 shots.
Chad Sirois scored on a Justin Michaud assist with 11:05 left in the first half for 0-2 Wisdom. Curtis Collin made 22 saves on 25 shots.

At Van Buren, Andrew Taylor made five saves on seven shots for 0-0-1 Van Buren.
Andrew Levesque stopped seven of 13 shots for 0-0-1 Madawaska.

Washburn 2, Wisdom 0
At St. Agatha, Kristen Goupille scored the first goal on a Alex Bird assist with 39:55 left in the first half to give Washburn the win.
Morgan Burube added an insurance goal with an assist from Erica McLaughlin with 26:39 left in the first half for 1-0 Washburn. Amber Palmer made four saves on six shots.
Kayla Daigle stopped 20 of 23 shots for 1-1 Wisdom.
Madawaska 2, Van Buren 0
At Van Buren, Julia Violette scored on a Ashley Cyr assist 37:07 into the first half to lead Madawaska past Van Buren.
Cyr scored a goal on a Beth Gerard assist in the second half for 1-0 Madawaska. Liz Laplante made three saves on five shots.
Lisa Levasseur stopped six of 13 shots for 0-1 Van Buren.
