FORT KENT – The University of Maine at Fort Kent orientation for new students will run from Sunday, Sept. 4, to Wednesday, Sept. 7.

There are 300 new students, freshmen and transfer students. Residence hall students will attend all four days of orientation, while all other students will participate Tuesday, Sept. 6, and Wednesday, Sept. 7.

Orientation activities include hiking, canoeing, a barbecue, ice breakers, campus tours and a comedy show.

The public is invited, at a cost of $5, to the comedy night at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 7, at the Fox Auditorium. Comedian Chris “Boom Boom” Johnson, who has performed at many clubs and colleges, will provide a show appropriate for most mature audiences.
