GLENBURN – Lancaster Brook Road will be closed Monday to through traffic while crews work on the railroad track crossing.
Both ends of the road will be accessible via Routes 221 or 15.
“It’s expected to be closed one day,” Bob Cote, manager of track maintenance for the Montreal Maine and Atlantic Railway, said.
The rehabilitation work on the railroad tracks and crossing is considered regular maintenance and isn’t the result of any particular problem, Cote said.
The railroad tracks will be removed and excavation work will be done under the rail bed before the whole thing is rebuilt, he said.
Cote added that it’s to the town’s benefit to do the work now, as crews are scheduled to do road reconstruction and paving on half of Lancaster Brook Road, toward Route 221, around the same time.
