Bangor police arrested three juvenile males early Friday morning after they fled from Bangor Mall security because they allegedly had stolen a car from Dexter, Officer James Hassard said.
Hassard went at about 4 a.m. to the area near Staples on Bangor Mall Boulevard after a security officer reported that three teens were changing a flat tire in the mall parking area. When the officer approached the males, they took off running, Hassard said.
The officer set up a perimeter of the area with help from another officer and caught one teen from Dexter and two others from Bradford. Hassard said he didn’t know whether any of the suspects had a driver’s license.
The car’s owner was notified, and Hassard said the juveniles did not have permission to take the car. The teens were taken to the Bangor police station and then released into their parents’ custody.
A Bangor woman was arrested Monday night and charged with stealing two four-packs of Kahlua drinks from a Union Street convenience store.
Nycole Hersey, 18, was attempting to purchase juice and cigarettes at Mobil’s On-the-Run store, according to a police report. When her credit card was denied, Hersey left the items on the counter and began to walk out. A customer told a clerk he had seen Hersey steal the alcohol and the clerk yelled for her to return the items, but she continued out the door, the report said.
Since Hersey provided her driver’s license to buy the cigarettes, the information was used to track her. A surveillance videotape also showed the woman putting four of the drinks into her purse and walking off with another four-pack.
Hersey was found later that evening at the Main Street Inn. She admitted to taking four of the drinks and told police she already had consumed them. She was issued a summons for possession of liquor by a minor and another for theft.
