BELFAST – State police and agents from the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency have charged a Plymouth couple in connection with a home invasion that took place in Burnham earlier this month.
Gordon J. Ginnish Jr., 18, and Danielle McCluskie, 23, were arrested at their Plymouth residence on Friday. Also seized at the residence was a maroon 1996 Buick that police believe was used in the Aug. 3 robbery. The vehicle was taken to the state police crime laboratory.
Ginnish and McCluskie were each charged with robbery and are being held at the Waldo County Jail on $5,000 cash or $10,000 surety bail.
DEA investigator Chris Tupper said Monday that the pair were apprehended after an extensive investigation. Armed with a search warrant, police raided the couple’s home at 5 p.m. Friday.
Tucker said the robbery occurred at the home of a Burnham woman at 4:03 p.m. Wednesday, Aug 3. The victim reported that a man and woman forced their way into her home by kicking in her front door and demanded drugs.
The woman was under a doctor’s care and the robbers left with her prescription drugs. The female intruder allegedly punched the woman in the arm and kicked her before running from the house, said Tupper. The victim told police the two robbers left in a red car.
The robbery was the fourth home invasion reported in Waldo County during the past year. Tupper said that “at this time it does not appear there is a connection” to the other crimes.
The case remains under investigation.
