Dowe overtime goal lifts Pandas past SAHS

DYER BROOK – Doob Dowe caught up with a shot that rolled wide past goalie Colby Clark on the left side and kicked the ball into the net with 2:45 left in the first overtime to give Lee Academy a 1-0 schoolboy soccer win over Southern Aroostook on Tuesday.

Minh Gu Rhee, who took the initial shot and drew Clark out, was credited with the assist for the 1-0 Pandas. Kris King saved all five shots he faced.

Clark made 10 saves on 11 shots for the 2-1 Southern Aroostook Warriors of Dyer Brook.

Ashland 3, Wisdom 1

At Ashland, Tyler Cote scored two unassisted goals in the second half to break a 1-1 tie for the Hornets.

Nick Cusack scored off a pass from Carl Nemer with 14:10 remaining in the first half. Curtis Collin made seven saves off 21 shots for 1-1 Ashland.

Casey Thibeault’s goal tied the game with 3:13 left in the first half for the St. Agatha-based Pioneers. Lucas Belanger and Kevin Baker combined for seven saves off nine shots.

Madawaska 2, Caribou 1

At Caribou, Paul Roy scored the game-winner with 18 minutes left in the second half with an assist from Tyler Levesque to lift the Owls to victory.

Dom Rossignol scored the first goal with 30:00 remaining in the first half. Andrew Levesque saved seven out of 14 shots for 2-0-1 Madawaska.

Jarryd Rossignol scored for the 0-1 Vikings. Brad Ala had three saves out of 15 shots.

Limestone 3, Washburn 2 (2OT)

At Washburn, Justin King’s goal from 10 yards out on a shot to the opposite corner three minutes into the second overtime gave Limestone-Maine School of Science and Math the come-from-behind win Monday afternoon.

Joe Leighton scored the other two goals – both in the second half – for the Eagles. A.J. Rossignol made 14 saves on 21 shots.

Ethan Doody scored both goals for the 2-1 Beavers with assists from Zack Bird and Matt Connolly. Stephen Pesut had 10 saves on 17 shots.

Girls Soccer

Ashland 6, Wisdom 0

At Ashland, Angela Belskis scored a pair of goals, including one on a direct kick as the Hornets breezed to the win.

Jackie Raymond added two goals and an assist while Suzie Poulin had a goal plus two assists for 1-0-1 Ashland. Kasie Boyd had a goal with an assist from Mia Richmond. Ashley Nemer stopped all seven shots she faced.

Kayla Daigle had 10 saves off 17 shots for the 2-3 Pioneers of St. Agatha.
