I’m all for higher education, but must we watch Tommy Lee ogle the assets of his pre-med, sorority girl tutor?

In his new reality show, “Tommy Lee Goes to College,” the rocker attends the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where he takes on a tough class schedule plus extracurricular activities, while still attempting to maintain his rock-star image – not the perfect recipe for academic success.

The first of Lee’s hurdles was to meet the dean, then it was on to find a roommate. It was obvious that the first few candidates weren’t going to pan out. After all, who can live with Lee if they don’t even know who Motley Crue is?

Once he found the perfect roommate in corn-fed Nebraska boy Matt Ellis, Lee brought in his posse to pimp out the room. Although impressed with Lee’s style, Ellis appeared slightly overwhelmed by his egotistic roomie and I’m not so sure their new-found friendship will make it through the semester.

With political science and philosophy at the forefront of Ellis’ studies, the two don’t seem to have much in common – except for the fact that they both like to talk about the ladies.

Lee’s chemistry tutor, Natalie, is a smart girl despite the stereotype of her appearance. People don’t usually assume that blonde-haired sorority girls are pre-med material. Hopefully her brains continue to shine above Lee’s one-track mind and she demonstrates that women can have beauty and brains.

Although the show has quirks that annoy, I admit I became hooked after watching the first episode. The announcer is obnoxious, but I imagine every college student will click this one on at least once during the fall semester.

And who knows, maybe Pamela will go back to school in the spring …

“Tommy Lee Goes to College” can be seen on NBC, at 9 p.m. Tuesdays.

And my favorite reality tidbit of the week – Donald Trump is planning a Chinese version of “The Apprentice” in which Beijing real-estate mogul Pan Shiyi will host and take his place in the boardroom, hiring and firing, according to a report from UPI News Service.

Trump’s show would go head-to-head against “Wise Man Takes All,” an “Apprentice”-style show being produced by his Hong Kong business partner, Vincent Lo Hong-sui.

Trump, however, predicted “Wise Man” will fail, and I tend to agree. Who can resist The Donald?
