Lori Gear McBride, who played on the 1994 North Carolina women’s basketball team that won a national championship, has been named head women’s basketball coach at Colby College.

Gear McBride spent five years as an assistant coach at the Division I level at Seton Hall University (1998-2003). She replaces Patricia O’Brien, who resigned to take the head coaching job at MIT.
