Whenever the topic of withdrawing U.S. troops from Iraq is discussed in the media it is assumed that when we leave, Iraq will fall into chaos.

Iraq is already a hell.

Fortunately, U.N. peacekeepers can be invited or sponsored to replace U.S. troops as they withdraw. U.N. peacekeepers can oversee future Iraqi elections, as well as police the private contractors as nation-building continues under U.N. control.

So when the United Nations moves into Iraq, U.S. troops can come home from Iraq – ASAP.

And if the Bush administration doesn’t want U.N. peacekeepers to replace U.S. troops, then we can replace the Bush administration. ASAP.
