Guard team sponsored in golf match

BANGOR – The Acadia Hospital partnered with Operation Community Support to sponsor a National Guard team at its annual Swing Fore Life Charity Tournament recently. The event raised just over $32,000 in support of the Acadia Hospital programs and services.

Four members from the 101st Air Refueling Wing in Bangor – Master Sgt. Britt Wetmore, Senior Master Sgt. Chuck Lucas, Master Sgt. Skip Tardiff and Staff Sgt. Ben Poland – who served in Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom, represented the Wing’s Maintenance Group, Security Forces Squadron, Operations Support Flight and Mission Support Flight. They were special guests for a day of golf at Penobscot Valley Country Club.

“Providing recreational opportunities to Guard members and their families is just one way to say ‘thank you’ for the sacrifices they are making on our behalf,” said Acadia Hospital CEO-CNO Dottie Hill.

The scramble tournament featured 29 teams vying for prizes.
