Olde Home Days have been scheduled in:
LEVANT From a craft fair to cribbage, a parade to an obstacle course, and just about everything in between, it’s all being planned for this weekend’s Levant Olde Home Days.
The festivities begin on Friday, Sept. 9, with a youth and adult talent show 6:30-8:30 p.m., followed immediately by a family dance. Both events are being held at the Suzanne M. Smith Elementary School.
The event resumes Saturday with a Boy Scout breakfast from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. A parade, billed as the Best Small Town Parade, will file through town, with the initial line up at 9:15 a.m. at Blackstream Drive.
The Levant Heritage Library, which opened recently, will hold an open house from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 10. Going on at the same time is the town’s biggest book sale, with proceeds to benefit the library, which already is looking to expand and add about 900 square feet.
The Smith School will be the center of events with fun activities, such as a 70-foot obstacle course, dunk tank and pony rides, just to mention a few, from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The Levant Olde Home Days will be capped by a fireworks display at 9 p.m. Saturday.
KENDUSKEAG Olde Home Days in Kenduskeag will take place Saturday, Sept. 10. The parade will line up on the Ames Road and begin marching at 10 a.m.
Events will begin at 11 a.m. at the Cole Memorial Ball Field on the Kenduskeag-Levant road. Activities include a live broadcast from Z107.3, bounce house, children’s games, relay races, tricycle race, pie-eating contest, farm animals, face painting, pet show, talent show, a dance and lots of food – cotton candy, dough boys, snow cones, popcorn, hamburgers and pizza.
