An unspecified amount of fresh-squeezed orange juice, produced by Orchid Island Juice Co. of Florida and sold in Maine and other states, has been recalled because the juice may be contaminated with salmonella bacteria.

The products recalled are packaged in gallon, half-gallon, quart, pint, 12-ounce or 8-ounce bottles and bear Natalie’s Orchid Island Juice Co., Albritton Fruit, Nino Salvaggio, Balducci’s, Gourmet Garage, Zabar’s or Ultimate labels. Only bottles with use-by dates from Sept. 15 through Sept. 22 are being recalled.

The product was distributed to retail stores and food service establishments in Maine and about two dozen other states in the East and Midwest.

Company testing turned up the problem with the product. There have been no reports of illness associated with the products. For questions about the recall contact the company at (772) 465-1122.
