My name is Jackson Sparkman and I am 4 years old. My mom is helping me write this letter.
I saw some kids and babies on TV who were stuck in a bad storm. We talked about how we could help them and I thought they were hungry.
I asked my mom if we could send some food and she said “OK.” I collected five bags of food and took them to the red spot people (American Red Cross).
When I walked inside the red spot building the lady told me she couldn’t take the food and it had to go back in the car. I was very sad because kids and babies were hungry and I wanted to give them my fruit roll-ups.
When I started to cry the lady told me she could take cash, checks or credit cards. I am only 4 and don’t have checks or credit cards so my mom gave me a $20 advance. I cried for a long time.
At karate integrity means “doing the right thing when nobody is watching.” The red spot lady should have helped me get food to the kids. My mom said there were hungry kids and grownups in Bangor where I live. I want to have integrity.
If you know where I could bring some food please let the newspaper people know. I don’t think the red spot lady has integrity. I hope you do.
