ORONO – The Orono Red Riots racked up 375 yards of total offense, all on the ground, en route to a 46-18 high school football victory over the Dexter Tigers Friday night.

Mardy Simon led the attack with 13 carries for 175 yards and three touchdowns. He also kicked two extra points. Travis Dunton also broke the 100-yard barrier, totaling 117 yards and a TD on eight carries. Nyasha Millard led the defense with 12 tackles.

Ben Spizuoco paced the Tigers with 80 yards on 12 carries with a 34-yard touchdown scamper.

At Bath, the Broncos rushed for 207 yards to gain their first win of the season.

Quarterback Chris Morris carried the ball 11 times for 65 yards and threw for 78 yards, including a 38-yard touchdown pass to Brian Richardson in the second quarter.

Hampden’s Craig Sarnecki added 50 yards on five carries, running for a 38-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter to seal the game for the Broncos. Som Ratsakongsky added a touchdown as well as nine tackles to lead the defense.

Darius Grate scored on a 38-yard run in the first quarter for Morse.

At Pittsfield, Duncan Markie racked up 101 yards on 11 carries and scored two touchdowns to lead the Lynx of Lincoln to the win.

Randy Reed notched 56 yards on seven carries for Mattananwcook. Jason Murchsion kicked three extra points and had a two-yard touchdown run.

Zack Dorion scored on a six-yard rush and rushed for a two-point conversion for the Huskies.

Bucksport 14, John Bapst 12

At Bucksport, Joe Robicheau scored a pair of touchdowns as the Bucksport Golden Bucks held off a late charge from the John Bapst Crusaders of Bangor.

Robicheau scored his second touchdown on a 1-yard run in the fourth quarter and then rushed for the two-point conversion to give Bucksport a 14-6 lead. John Bapst pulled within 14-12 on a 4-yard pass from Kyle Gallant to Zach Burnett in the final seconds but was unable to convert its two-point conversion try.

Robicheau gave Bucksport a 6-0 lead on a 1-yard run in the second quarter. John Bapst tied the game early in the fourth quarter on a 4-yard run by Ron St. Pierre.

Robicheau finished with 88 yards on 24 carries, while Deven Eaton had 95 yards on eight carries. St. Pierre rushed for 40 yards on 11 tries, while Gallant completed 16 of 32 passes for 175 yards.

At Millinocket, sophomore quarterback Andrew Weiss completed seven of 18 passes for 224 yards and four touchdowns and rushed for another score and 128 yards as the Tigers rolled.

Weiss connected with John Coppola on an 86-yard completion, hit Josh Elwell for TD tosses of 34 and 9 yards, and hooked up with Dom Morrill on an 18-yard scoring pass. Coppola caught four passes for 149 yards.

Weiss opened the scoring with a 10-yard run. Mike Marsh ran for TDs of 3 and 36 yards for Rockland. Mark Boynton had 11 tackles and two fumble recoveries, while Dan Curtis had 13 tackles.

Gene Kim paced the Stearns offense with 135 yards on 23 carries, while Lance Thibodeau returned a kickoff 65 yards for a touchdown.

Cory Bennett made 11 tackles for the Minutemen.

At Dover-Foxcroft, the Ponies defense held Livermore Falls tailback Ryan Webster to 29 yards rushing in the second half after he had gained 194 in the first, and outscored the Andies 33-0 after trailing 14-7 at intermission.

Joey Caparrelli led a balanced Foxcroft offense with 68 yards on 12 carries with two touchdowns. James McPhee had 65 yards on 13 carries and a touchdown, and recorded six tackles on defense. Josh Pelletier notched six tackles.

Webster wound up with 223 yards on 28 carries and two touchdowns for Livermore Falls.

At Turner Center, the Leavitt Hornets amassed 581 yards of total offense in earning their first win of the season.

Tyler Angell completed seven of 10 passes for 225 yards and four touchdowns, three in the first half as the Hornets built a 34-0 lead. Angell also rushed for 57 yards and a TD.

Corey Witham had three pass receptions for Leavitt.

Old Town managed just 96 total yards, 66 through the air.
