Price lifts Mustangs to victory

PITTSFIELD – Kevin Price scored an unassisted goal two minutes into the second overtime to lead the Mount View Mustangs to a 3-2 schoolboy soccer victory over the Maine Central Institute Huskies Monday.

Alex Pierel and John Wentworth both scored a goal for 2-2 Mount View of Thorndike. Ethan Jean made five saves on 14 shots.

Dustin Varney scored both goals for 2-2 Maine Central Institute and Trevin Ming had both assists. Josh Furrow and Dennis Moody combined to stop four of 11 shots.

JV: MCI 6-2

Hall-Dale 6, Carrabec 3

At North Anson, Jay Skilling and Fernando Barktos both scored two goals to help lead Hall-Dale of Farmingdale to the win.

Gryan Lali and Adam Pratt each added a goal for 2-1 Hall-Dale. Christopher LeClair made eight saves on 13 shots.

Sam Shaw scored two goals for 1-1-1 Carrabec and Nick Caldwell had a goal. Ugo Liberti stopped eight of 14 shots.

JV: Carrabec 4-1

Orono 6, Searsport 0

At Searsport, Jeff Normand scored two goals to lead Orono past Searsport.

Nemish Patel scored a goal and had an assist for the 3-0-1 Red Riots. Chris McOnnon, Max Winter, and Casey Gallant each scored a goal. Tony Raymond had two assists. Mat Lint stopped both shots that he faced.

Garrett Greenlaw and Harry Patterson combined to make eight saves on 14 shots for Searsport, now 2-1.

Field hockey

Foxcroft 2, Hampden 1 (2OT)

At Dover-Foxcroft, Kayla Clukey scored on a Danika Brown assist with 2:53 left in the second overtime to give Foxcroft Academy the victory.

Molly Cyr scored with 17 minutes left in the second half with an assist from Jen Gagnon for 5-0 Foxcroft. Morgan Rice made 14 saves on 15 shots.

Tini Lumino scored an unassisted goal with 3:30 left in the second half to tie it for 4-1 Hampden. Katie Hessert stopped 18 of 20 shots.

JV: Hampden 3-0

Girls soccer

Lee Acad. 9, Woodland 0

At Woodland, Lee Academy scored seven goals in the second half to pull away from the Dragons.

Aarika Ritchie led the Pandas with a goal and an assist, while Jodi Worcester also scored two goals.

Amanda Gifford added a goal and an assist, while Liz Read, Karen Bird, Laci McLaughlin and Amy Lane also scored goals and Marci Moors chipped in with an assist.

Jackie Moors saved both the shots she faced for 3-0 Lee, while Cindy Bergin made 21 saves on 29 shots for 1-2 Woodland.

Orono 2, Dexter 1

At Dexter, Lindsey Colbath scored the winning-goal with 36:27 left in the second half to lead Orono to victory.

Colbath also had a first-half goal for 3-0-1 Orono. Heather Woodbrey stopped four of five shots.

Sabrina Cote scored with 3:37 left in the first half for 2-3 Dexter. Ashley Richardson made nine saves on 11 shots.

Houlton 3, Schenck 2

At East Millinocket, three different Shiretowers had a goal apiece in the win over the Wolverines.

Mallory McPartland, Brittany Guiod and Emily Bartlett each recorded a goal for Houlton, now 3-6. Nicole Manton made nine saves on 17 shots.

Courtney McLaughlin scored both goals for 2-2 Schenck. Robin Larlee stopped six out of 14 shots.

Ellsworth 8, Foxcroft 0

At Ellsworth, Maggie Harding scored three goals to push Ellsworth to the win.

Emily Miller and Nicole Austin both scored a goal and had an assist for 3-1 Ellsworth. Ashley Cloak, Anna Briggs, and Casey Wyman each had an assist and Maggie Seavey had two assists. Catie Cravens stopped five of eight shots.

Brittany Sadley made 20 saves on 35 shots for 1-3 Foxcroft Academy.

JV: Ellsworth 5-0

MDI 3, Hermon 0

At Hermon, Maya Gray scored with 34:57 left in the second half to help lead Mount Desert Island to the win.

Katy Klaver and Kaitlin Vaux both added a goal for 1-2 MDI. Christina McKay stopped five of nine shots.

Ashley Kelley made 14 saves on 19 shots for 0-5 Hermon.

JV: MDI 4-2

Winslow 9, Rockland 0

At Rockland, Vicki Nadeau scored a goal and assisted another to help lead Winslow to the win.

Chelsea Carrier also scored two goals for 4-0 Winslow. Brynne Davis, Meryl McLellan, Katie Caron, Liz Cheesman, and Katie McLaughlin each scored a goal. Hannah Brazier stopped all three shots.

Allie Todd made 13 saves on 21 shots for 0-4 Rockland.
