Vehicle collisions keep Houlton officials busy

HOULTON – Four motor vehicles that collided in two separate accidents kept Houlton police, fire and rescue personnel busy Monday, but no serious injuries were reported.

Houlton police Lt. Daniel Pelletier said Tuesday that crews were first called to the scene of an accident on North Street involving two vehicles on Monday afternoon.

According to Pelletier, a vehicle driven by Robert Lewis, 24, of Alfred, was exiting Interstate 95.

Houlton resident Megan Bulley, 18, was southbound on North Street when Lewis’ vehicle crossed into her path and they collided.

No one was injured, Pelletier said Tuesday. The accident remains under investigation.

Officer Eric Crouse handled the accident.

Later that evening, crews responded to an accident involving a car and a motorcycle at the intersection of Pleasant and Willard streets at approximately 7 p.m.

Pelletier said that Gaynelle Joslyn, 38, of Houlton, was riding her motorcycle west on Pleasant Street when a 2003 four-door Ford operated by Heather London, 16, of Hodgdon, pulled out from the stop sign on Willard Street and the vehicles collided.

Joslyn suffered injuries to her leg and was taken by Houlton ambulance to Houlton Regional Hospital.

London was not injured.

Cpl. Dana Duff is investigating the incident, according to Pelletier. No damage estimates were available Tuesday.

The Houlton fire and ambulance departments assisted at each scene.
