BANGOR – A federal grand jury has indicted three men on gun charges and a woman for drug smuggling.
Marie S. Paul, 25 of Perry was indicted Tuesday in U.S. District Court in Bangor for smuggling OxyContin into the United States from Canada on March 31.
U.S. Border Patrol agents discovered Paul was allegedly smuggling an undisclosed amount of the painkiller into the country.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office declined Thursday to comment on the details of Paul’s case.
She is scheduled to be arraigned Sept. 27.
If convicted, Paul faces up to 20 years in prison and a fine of up to $1 million.
Also indicted this week in federal court were:
Timothy A. Paccagnella, 58, of Dover-Foxcroft, possession of an unregistered short-barreled shotgun, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.
Bobby L. Nightingale, 24, Presque Isle, possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of a stolen firearm.
Cosme Sanchez-Ramirez, 41, transient, possession of a firearm by a felon, making a false statement in connection with the attempted acquisition of a firearm, false claim of citizenship.
