MACHIAS – Author Erleen Christensen will read from her book, “In War and Famine: Missionaries in China’s Honan Province in the 1940s,” on Thursday, Sept. 22, at the University of Maine at Machias Merrill Library. The presentation, which will begin at 7 p.m. with a reading in Merrill Library’s main room, is free and open to the public. A book signing immediately follows. Light refreshments will be served.
