The Kennebec Road is closed to traffic while work is being done to replace some deteriorated culverts, according to the Maine Department of Transportation. The work area is located about one-third mile west of the intersection of the Kennebec Road and the Dahlia Farm Road. Two deteriorated pipes are being replaced with a larger, 72-foot-long concrete pipe. The new pipe also will include a fish weir as part of the local fisheries plan. The road will reopen sometime Friday, Sept. 23. Through traffic will be detoured by way of the Chapman Road and Route 202. The Kennebec Road will remain open to local traffic from the Chapman Road to the work site and from Route 202 to the work area.
