MARDY SIMON

Simon, a senior running back for the Orono football team, has been named LTC Player of the Week. Simon had 14 carries for 231 yards and a touchdown, and also scored a TD on a 48-yard punt return. On defense, he made seven solo tackles in the Red Riots’ 56-14 win over Rockland.

TYLER ANGELL

Angell, a quarterback and safety for the Leavitt of Turner Center football team, has been named PTC Class B Player of the Week. Angel completed 9 of 11 passes for 182 yards and two touchdowns in a 34-8 win over Morse of Bath. Angell also rushed for 120 yards and scored a TD, and defensively was in on 15 tackles and had an interception.

Jess Minty

Jess Minty of Colby College in Waterville earned ECAC Cross Country Runner of the Week honors. She won the overall women’s title at the UMass-Dartmouth Invitational, touring the 5K course in 18 minutes, 26 seconds.
