The Rev. Susan J. Latimer, rector of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 60 Eustis Parkway, has been awarded a Lilly Endowment grant for clergy renewal, the only recipient in Maine this year. The endowment announced this week that Latimer and St. Mark’s are among just 124 congregations chosen nationwide this year. Each congregation is awarded up to $45,000 to send its pastor on a sabbatical, which the congregation and pastor design together. Latimer was ordained to the Episcopal priesthood in 1992 and began her service at St. Mark’s in 2001.
